LONGEST DAY OF THE YEAR FUNDRAISER.
JUNE 21ST 2009, 9:30 start time
Longest Day of the Year fundraiser was inspired by our Office Manager, Cathy. She feels it is an inspirational way to start the day, The Longest Day.
The 1st Annual Longest Day was held at Lumberman’s Arch in Stanley Park.
What a beautiful way to start the day. Everyone arriving just before 9:30 and we were off. All starting at the same time up towards the park and then heading North around the sea wall. There was an excellent turn out of supporters and we fundraised more than we had hoped.
The first to cross the finish line was Genevieve with a walking time of 33:03, but Colleen was quick on her heals with a time of 33:05.
Jason was the quickest for the runners crossing the finish line with a time of 45:23.
We had several people enter into the ‘sexy shorts’ contest and unanimous vote went to Felix to take the prize.
A light breakfast followed. Then we were all off to enjoy the rest of the day.
